Understanding the Miracle Power of Impartation

By Dr. David O. Oyedepo
No one can encounter the power of God, either directly or by impartation, without a certified thirst – a genuine crave or desperation of heart.
Every great destiny is a product of an encounter with the impartation of grace. No great destiny can be in isolation; it is access to diverse grace that makes a great destiny.
Since this month began, we have been exploring the pillar of The Supernatural. In this light, we shall now examine the topic: ‘Engaging the Miracle Power of Impartation.’
God’s prophets are carriers of God’s signs and wonders but until they stand in their prophetic offices and release the virtues they carry, the enemy will continue to blaspheme and reproach God’s children.
We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name forever?
Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? Pluck it out of thy bosom.
For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth (Psalm 74:9-12).

What is Impartation?

*    It is essentially a spiritual platform for the duplication and multiplication of grace: This presupposes that grace is transferred from a source to a receiver. So, impartation is a spiritual platform for attracting a desired grace from a carrier to one’s life.

It was not a miracle that Elisha encountered; it was a double portion of the grace on Elijah’s life. Miracles will provide answers for the now, but grace will give you command both for the now and for the future.
*    It is the tangible transference of the power of God through an anointed vessel: By the transference of the power of God in Paul – an anointed vessel, diseases were healed and evil spirits were cast out.

And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them (Acts 19:11-12).

*    It is the transference of spiritual endowment from anointed vessels to others: You cannot give what you do not have (Acts 3:6). The making of every great destiny lies in the giftings of the Spirit (Proverbs 18:16).

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established (Romans 1:11).

So, the virtues in an anointed vessel can be transferred to those who desire, crave, and are desperate for it.

*    It is the transmission of the power of God into the situations of men (Luke 7:13-16):
And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them (Luke 5:17).

You can operate in the class of any anointed person, by partaking of the grace he carries; because it is grace that makes great.
Also, understand that, like every other provisions of the kingdom, impartation also delivers principally on faith.
When the prophet of prophets, Jesus Christ, got to Nazareth, He marvelled at their unbelief because He could do no mighty works (Mark 6:5-6). So, it takes faith to access the impartation of grace from any source carrying it.
Channels of Impartation
Ø The Prophetic Word: God’s word is the carrier of God’s power. He confirms whatever word He gives to His prophets.

While Jesus was teaching, people received their healings through the prophetic word (Luke 5:17), (Romans 1:16). God’s word releases His power that changes people’s situations.

Ø Through Laying - on of Hands (Acts 19:1-6):
And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses (Deuteronomy 34: 9).

Joshua stepped into Moses’ shoes supernaturally, via the laying – on of hands. Why?

And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power (Habakkuk 3:4).
[
So, this is a potent channel for the impartation of grace.
Ø The Prophetic Mantle: In Acts 19: 11-12, God wrought special miracles through the handkerchiefs and aprons taken from Apostle Paul.

Priesthood in the Old Testament represents today’s apostles and prophets. They are the cornerstones of the church, and the high priest of the New Testament.
It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore (Psalm 133: 2-3).

What is the Mantle?
And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground (2 Kings 2:8).
The prophetic mantle connects you to the virtue of the prophet, such that wherever that virtue takes him, it takes you.
The mystery of the mantle is not a doctrine, it is a biblical truth. When you catch a revelation of this truth, you will become a beneficiary of its manifestations.
And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over (2 Kings 2:14).
The mantle carries the power to exempt you from life’s situations and circumstances.
What is in the Mantle?
o   The Overflowing Anointing of the Prophet is in his Mantle (Matthew 14: 34-36): The anointing on the prophet flows down to anything that touches Him. It carries the grace that the prophet carries; so, whatever answers to the prophets also answers to the carriers of such mantles.

What makes the Mantle Work?
ü  Believing the word concerning the prophetic mantle: What you don’t believe cannot be profitable to you.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it (Hebrews 4:2).

Believe in the mystery of the prophetic mantle as unveiled in scriptures.
ü Believing in the person and the ministry of the prophet: Believe that the prophet is a man of God, and his ministry is not fake. When you believe, you connect to it, and then take delivery of your portion.
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward (Matthews 10:41).
ü Being upright in heart (2 Kings 4:29-31): Gehazi was given the prophet’s mantle to raise the widow’s dead son, but he failed. The authority of the prophet was placed in his hand and it didn’t work because he had a reprobate mind. He was a carnal man who was greedy for money (2 Kings 5:20-27).

So, the mantle does not work in every life, it works only in the hands of the upright. It is not a magic wand; it is a kingdom asset and it works only for the upright in heart. So, stay connected or the flow will seize.
